![]() Much as we would like to, regretfully we are unable to take unsolicited scripts or story ideas, unless they are submitted by a literary agent. Why? Simply put, Novel does not have enough people available to respond to the large numbers of treatments and scripts we would receive if we did. We also have to be careful to avoid the potential legal and ethical problems faced if something submitted is felt to share a number of similarities with a future Novel production.
Keep writing! We hope that you are already enjoying success with your work, that you have already written articles, short stories or even a novel! You may already be involved in film, television or radio and have some experience of script writing. We understand how much talent and hard work it takes to become a successful writer and we encourage you to keep on trying. The Writers & Artists Yearbook (published by A&C Black and available through online bookstores and most large High Street bookshops) is the starting point for all potential writers, and provides a list of recognised literary agents. It will also offer practical help and advice on furthering your career. We wish you luck with your search. Not quite. Novel may not be in a position to welcome all original idea submissions, but if you have some experience of Film and Television script writing, we do occasionally look for freelance script adapters and writers to work on specific projects. If you feel you have sufficient experience and would like to be considered, please write with a comprehensive CV to: Novel Entertainment |
