The hugely popular characters created by Francesca Simon will soon be brought to life in Novel Entertainment's new children's animated series Horrid Henry.

Henry appeals to the naughty child in all of us. A force of nature who unwittingly causes mayhem wherever he goes, Henry drives his well-meaning family mad.

Henry, leader of the Purple Hand Gang, lives in an ordinary house on the edge of a large town that contains all the things that Henry dreams of but his family avoid - multiplex cinemas, fast food joints and computer games arcades - heaven! Constantly irritated by his perfect brother Peter, Henry sometimes feels as though the world is against him. Take his parents for example. Why do they attempt to poison him with carrot sticks in his lunch box? Why do they walk ahead of him on the way to school, pretending he's not their son? Just because he sold Perfect Peter as a slave for 50p it's hardly fair, afterall, he did buy Peter back!

The animated Horrid Henry takes a child's eye view on the world. Henry may be horrid, but with UK book sales in excess of 5 million, he's also much loved by the millions of children who already know him through the entertaining stories of author Francesca Simon. They adore him because inside every child, there's a Horrid Henry (or Henrietta!) trying to get out.
